Why Is He Growning Up So Fast?

Nelson leaves for a week and comes home to a little boy that can swim and use the bathroom on his own. I need to send him away more often. This past week Carson went from being my baby to doing things that bump him up to big boy status and I don't like it. I think my hormones are getting the best of me because the last two days I have just started crying for no reason at all watching the baby story and realizing that in 2 weeks Carson will officially be the big brother and not the baby.

Did I mention he was fearless. Which is not a good thing, especially when it involves my curtains being ripped from the wall because he told me he was just pretending to be a hanging monkey.
He took swimming lessons and now can swim underwater without floaties, is tanned, and so proud of himself. All week the teachers kept saying they had never met a child that was so fearless in the water, again, not necessarily a good thing. She said not to put him back in floaties but to watch him like a hawk because his confidence is high and he isn't afraid. At his program he kept looking at the crowd to make sure everyone was watching him. He was so glad Meme got to come watch him. With Nelson being gone and Maggie here I figured this would be a good week to retry the underwear. I told him that Lighting McQueen and Mater (from Cars) don't like poop or pee on them so you have to use the potty and not your underwear. That was it with my "training" and he sort of did it himself the rest of the way. He told me on Monday when I put on the underwear that his tummy hurt and he needed to poop so he got on his potty and did it and he kept that up the rest of the week. We've had one minor tee tee accident and one major poop accident. He told me he needed to go poop in the bathroom and the next thing I know he is in the kitchen with it on his hands telling me it is disgusting. He apparently tried to get on the big potty while in the process of going and got off then back on. It was smeared ALL over the bathroom and kitchen floor. I spent the next hour Cloroxing everything while Courtney was outside hosing him down. I'm not going to try underwear going places until after the baby is born. I think his motivation was his sticker chart and getting a tricylce. That was not suppose to get filled until September, but I'll take being trained while at home. So he now has his tricycle since it only took a few days to fill. I think the new chart will be a treat from the dollar store.
